Nice game! your back story is rich and your visual art peculiar but fascinating. As others told you the text speed is a bit high but that's not a real problem most of the times. Congratulations
Thanks for playing! Text speed was definitely quicker than intended, and some of the timing was definitely worse after editing. Running out of time in the Jam had more impact than I would have liked.
Absolutely loving the visual style and there is a surprising amount of content there. Although I tend to like inventory based puzzles a bit more than an almost purely conversation based game, I have to say the story is compelling and would love to see it continue (including finding out whether we'll have a way to read the darn book ๐).
If you do release an update or expansion, please make it so that the dialogue doesn't move on to the next textbox until clicked, especially as there is no way to re-read them as the dialogue options are not longer available after playing once. I'm a pretty fast reader and I still missed a few things because I was distracted or just taking a sip of my drink.
Quick note, and one that I see often with this engine: you might want to disable the jumping when pressing the spacebar. It seems out of place ๐
Yeah all excellent points and on the TO-DO list. I wanted to add a slider to the options menu to control the text speed so folks could pick one they liked. Perhaps a click to advance check box as well as some prefer not clicking. I didn't work on those things as it all operates differently when it is fully voiced, which was the plan at the start. Jumping was a side effect of some of the prototyping work that was never removed. Thanks for the feedback and most of all thanks for playing!
